This started out as a relatively simple project, designed to be a more animalic twist on the famous TF Amber Absolute, similar to the "Intense" versions of other TF fragrances like Tobacco Oud, Oud Wood, and Tuscan Leather. It has continued to evolve and at this point is a mostly original formulation. It still has the core of TF Amber Absolute: olibanum, labdanum, vanilla, and sandalwood. But it adds 3 different ouds, several animalic ingredients, elemi resin, scotch pine, and many other supporting elements. It is a deep and heavy amber, slightly sweet, with distinct but tasteful oud and animalic elements. It is surprisingly popular with women for something that was originally intended to be "intense!"

Makes me feel classy.

While I haven't smelled Amber Absolute from Tom Ford, I don't think I need to anymore. If you are a fan of amber, this is one you just need to spray on skin immediately to experience it, no need for a tester strip. Smelling the evolution on skin is a fun adventure full of slightly sweet warmth with inoffensive animalic and oud tastings. I wish it was Winter in Texas right now so I can wear it on a cool night out!
